Hossein Vafaei Ayouri (Persian: حسین وفایی ایوری, born September 14, 1994 in Abadan, Iran) is a Iranian snooker player.[2]
He participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China in the snooker singles competition and reached to last 16.[3]
In April 2011, he reached the final of ACBS Asian Snooker Under-21 Championship, but lost the final against Cao Yupeng of China with the score of 3-7.[4] As a result he couldn't enter the 2011/2012 World Snooker Tour.
In September 2011, by received a wildcard to participate at the 2011 Shanghai Masters. But he could not advance to the first round as he lost against Fergal O'Brien from Ireland by the score of 1–5.[5]
On December 3rd, 2011, He won the World Amateur Snooker Championship title in Bangalore, India by defeating Lee Walker of Wales in the final with the score of 10–9.[6][7] He won this title at the age of 17 years and 81 days, which makes him the youngest ever winner of the World Amateur Snooker Championship. Before that, Ian Preece kept this record by wining the title at the age of 17 years and 147 days.[8]
